How long have you been involved in sport? 

I have played sports at school since I was 14 but I hadn’t really tried Hockey until joining university. 

Best thing about being part of a sport or sports team?

Getting out and being active is a huge benefit but being able to meet people with the same interests as you is the best part. Being a part of a team alongside your friends is by far the best thing about playing sports.

 Favourite sporting moment at Uni?

 Winning the BUCS Cup and winning Team of the Year for Women’s Hockey were both pretty amazing!

 How does participating in Sport positively affect your Mental Health?

It’s so easy to lock yourself indoors all day studying so sports is a great way to get out, blow off some steam and reduce stress. It’s also a great way to bond with people who are in the same boat as you. I think knowing you aren’t alone and having a team beside you is the best benefit sports can provide for mental health.

 What would you say to someone who might be interested in joining a sports team?

Go for it! Don’t worry if you’ve never played before and just want to try something new, just go for it! You never know, you might just be a natural!
