Who we are
The Students’ Union is a democratic organisation run by students for students with over 20,000 members, to represent student views to the University at all levels and to provide support services for its members.
The SU is led by an Officer Team of elected Full-time Officers (one President, three GSU Officers).

What we provide
We provide support and encourage our members to get involved with the university experience as much as possible, the below are to main areas where we engage with our members.
Membership Services

Student Voice – Involvement with Student Assembly, campaigns, Elections and members representation

Student Advice – Provide advice to all our members regarding Health, Housing, Employment, Money, International Students, safety, academic and other issues not covered in the aforementioned

Student Activities – Encompasses Societies, Sports clubs, Awards, Varsity and much more

Employability and Volunteering – identifying opportunities and providing support
Commercial Services
Greenwich - Down in the depths of Dreadnought Building is the Lower Deck where the lower the sea level the greater the party! Open from morning till late. We also have our Greenwich Lookbook merch store, selling a great range of University of Greenwich branded merchandise

Avery Hill – pop-up social events for students who are residents or visitors to enjoy

Tudor Café in Avery Hill – selling take-away food and coffee, snacks and confectionery, in addition to a ‘convenience’ offering including groceries and toiletries

The Deep End in Medway - selling hot food and drink, as well as grab-and-go options.

Opt-Out of Membership
If you do not wish to be a member of the Students’ Union and thereby have no access to all of the above, then you can opt-out by giving written notice to the University Secretary of the University of Greenwich. We will be notified that you wish to opt-out of membership, and your name will be removed from our records. You can contact the University Secretary at compliance@gre.ac.uk.
