What is Green Week 2014?

The University of Greenwich and the Students’ Union will be running Green Week from the 31st March to 4th April 2014.

We will be hosting a number of events including bee tours around campus, film nights, swap shop stalls and opportunities to get your bike fixed by Dr Bike. We will be holding stalls on each campus between 11am and 2pm on the following days:

  • Tuesday 1st April at Medway, Pilkington Atrium
  • Wednesday 2nd April, at Greenwich, Queen Mary Under Croft
  • Thursday 3rd April, at the Avery Hill Dome.

Monday 31st March

  • Sustainability Hub Treasure Hunt

    Like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter to take part in the treasure hunt around the Greenwich campus. First clue to go live 9am.

  • Bar Latitude Meat Free Monday Menu

    Come in and try a veggie option and pick up an information pack from the Vegetarian Society.

  • Photography Society Exhibition Launch

    The University of Greenwich Photography Society will launch their exhibition on Monday. Like our Facebook page to take part and see a preview of their work.

  • Bee Tour

    Meet at 12pm outside the Avery Hill Dome to take a look inside the bee hives and see the secret lives of bees.

  • Health and Wellbeing forum

    Find out more about sustainability and health at our interactive forum. 2pm Grey Building, Room 104,Avery Hill

Tuesday 1st April

  • Green Week Fayre 11am – 2pm (Medway, Pilkington Atrium) featuring:
    • Sustainable food, energy and water Information and displays.
    • A Swap Shop stall and clothes donations.
    • Oxfam Fundraiser Bingo.
    • Upcycling.
    • Pedal Power Bike generator.
    • Waste and recycling information and presentations.
    • Information and opportunities from Sustainability Team and the Greenwich Sustainability Hub.

Wednesday 2nd April

  • Green Week Fayre, 11am - 2pm (Greenwich - Queen Mary Under Croft) featuring:
    • Sustainable food, energy and water Information and displays.
    • A Swap Shop stall and clothes donations.
    • Oxfam Fundraiser Bingo.
    • Upcycling.
    • Pedal Power Bike generator.
    • Waste and recycling information and presentations.
    • Information and opportunities from Sustainability Team and the Greenwich Sustainability Hub.
    • Water saving tips from Thames Water.
    • Live Music!
  • Dr Bike, 11am-5pm, Queen Anne car park

    Dr Bike (provided by Velo-City) will be on hand to fix your bike and talk to you about how you can maintain it. Bring your bike along to take advantage of this free service (first come first serve).

  • Every Can Counts Free Movie Night - Wall-E, from 6pm, Bar Latitude Lounge

    Creative Film Society is hosting tonight’s event. It’s free, all you need to do is bring a can/s to recycle! (first come first serve)

Thursday 3rd April

    Free film night! All you need to do is bring a can/s to recycle! (first come first serve)
