The Cinematic Arts Society is a hub for students to explore their creative potential, share ideas, and produce impactful work. We are providing the space for students to learn and advance their skills with various roles in pre, during and post-production. There is something for everyone. Through various events, training, and projects, the society seeks to bridge the gap between different creative fields, nurture talent, and provide opportunities for students to showcase their work, collaborate with industry professionals, and prepare for careers in the cinematic arts. 

EVENTS & COMPETITIONS

• Annual Society Film Projects: The Cinematic Arts Club will produce atleast two high-quality short films each year with the guidance of faculty, providing members with the opportunity to create impactful projects that will be submitted to prestigious film festivals. These projects will not only help members develop professional industry skills but also bring appreciation and recognition to our school and departments, highlighting the creative potential of our institution.
• Industry Workshops & Film Screenings: We will organize workshops and masterclasses with renowned filmmakers, actors, writers, cinematographers, directors, and photographers, providing members with valuable insights from industry professionals. Additionally, we will host film screenings of acclaimed works by other filmmakers, as well as projects by our students, followed by engaging Q&A sessions to foster a deeper understanding and discussion of cinematic techniques and storytelling.
• Cinematic Costume Party: A lively annual event where members dress as their favorite characters from films, TV shows, or animations. The day features a costume contest, role-play activities, a themed photo booth, and a festive party or DJ night with film-inspired music. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes, while food and drinks inspired by classic movies and shows will add to the experience, creating a fun and social space for students to bond over their love of cinema.
• The Creative Mic Nights: This event will celebrate students' creative talents, focusing on poetry, comedy, and live music. With an open mic format, participants can share their original poems, comedic pieces, or even perform live music or songs. This informal yet dynamic setting will offer a platform for students to practice public speaking, share their work with an audience, and receive constructive feedback. It will also encourage cross-disciplinary connections among performers, fostering creativity and community.
• Cinema Socials: We will organize group outings to local cinemas once or twice a month to watch critically acclaimed films, current releases, or hidden gems. After the screenings, members will gather for a lively film discussion session, sharing thoughts, analyzing themes, and exploring cinematic techniques. It will be an ideal space for film enthusiasts to connect, socialize, and gain new insights into the world of filmmaking while enjoying the shared experience of watching great films together.
• Scriptwriting Contest: A scriptwriting contest will be held among students and society members to showcase and encourage emerging screenwriters. Participants will submit original scripts, which will be judged by faculty members and industry professionals. The top three scripts will be awarded prizes. In addition, with the support of our faculty and professional networks, these winning scripts will be forwarded to industry contacts, providing the chance for production consideration or produced through the society.
• CineLens Photography Contest: We will organize a competition to showcase the photographic talent of society members and students, focusing on cinematic storytelling. Participants will capture images that represent the essence of film, encouraging experimentation with lighting, composition, and narrative. The best entries will be displayed in a gallery or digital exhibition, with prizes awarded for creativity, technique, and impact.
• CineDesign Contest: A creative competition for graphic designers and film lovers to create original film posters inspired by their favorite films, genres, or concepts. Participants will explore typography, composition, color, and imagery, while incorporating cinematic themes and storytelling. The best designs will be showcased in a gallery or digital exhibition, with prizes awarded for creativity, visual impact, and how well they capture the essence of a film.
• One Minute Film Competition: This competition challenges participants to create impactful and engaging films in just one minute. Open to all genres and styles, the contest encourages creativity, storytelling, and innovation within a limited timeframe.
