Heeeyyyy! I’m Mayo and I am a GSU Officer.

What did you study and on what campus?

I studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering on the Medway campus. Tried commuting from London in my first year but that didn’t work for me so I moved down to Medway in my second year and lived there for two years.

Why did you get involved with the SU?

Really and truly, at the end of my first year, I was at a point where I wanted to leave the university but GK Unions (now GKSU) gave me the opportunity to start a society about what I’m passionate about. Got people who were eager to join, and these guys became my family so every thought of leaving Greenwich became non-existent.

I was also a programme rep in all the three years of my course and then decided to run for GSU Officer because I saw it as not just an opportunity but a platform to make changes and better the lives of students and of course to put Medway on the Map?

What’s your fun fact?

Greenwich is the second university I’ve been to but I went to my first university and started my first degree when I was 15… turned 16 three days after!
