How does it feel to be a woman in leadership here in Greenwich?
It is both proud and humbling at the same time. Greenwich has made great strides when it comes to inclusivity and it feels great to be part of that journey and have the opportunity to support others to achieve their potential.
Tell us about your career journey, and how you ended up at Greenwich.
I came to Greenwich as an international student to study for an MA in Strategic Marketing and applied to do my PhD at Greenwich after. Whilst I was doing my PhD, I was teaching at various universities as an hourly paid lecturer. Once I completed my PhD, I continued to work in different universities as a part-time academic as well as working in the non-profit sector as Project Manager and Research Associate. I later decided to take on a full-time role at Greenwich as Programme Leader for the MA Marketing Suite of programmes and have also held posts of Faculty Quality Enhancement Lead and Interim Head of Department before my current role as Head of School - Management and Marketing.
What tips would you give to the women at Greenwich today? Any top tips to empower women in the University of Greenwich community?
My top tip to all women is to be yourself. You are stronger than you think you are. You don’t need to change who you are or your values to fit into someone else’s idea of what you should be. Stay true to your values and believe in yourself.
