Goodbye Ana!
Ana has made a lasting impact as the Greenwich Sustainability Hub Manager from October 2013 to December 2014. Her work dedicated to establishing and managing the Hub's projects and student Green Ambassadors has provided strong roots and legacy for the Hub to build upon moving forward. We wish her the best of luck in her new position as Sustainability Officer for Camden Council.
Hello Chantal!
Chantal swapped over her winter boots from the freezing Alberta winters in Canada to her cycle gear coming to the Students’ Union University of Greenwich as Sustainability Hub Manager in Mid-February. Previously Head of Sustainability at MacEwan University and Environmental Compliance Officer at the London School of Economics, Chantal has over ten years of hands-on experience in the Higher Education sector developing and implementing organizational strategy and actions toward sustainability.
Future Fair
Our first annual sustainability themed show happened on Wednesday 11th February. The Future Fair was the first of its kind to be held at the University of Greenwich, and what a success it was! Over 150 students took part in the day’s activities and had the opportunity to engage with topics such as biodiversity, energy, carbon, and water, and relate their field of study with potential careers in sustainability.
The Fair incorporated three different sections aiming to educate students through various speakers and panel discussions, inspire action with an exhibition of sustainability projects, photography and innovative research, and create employment opportunities and provide career advice by hosting interactive stalls with businesses and organisations promoting sustainability.

Lecture Theatre 11_0004, Stockwell Street Library, University of Greenwich
Sunset Over Selungo is being shown as a free film screening and the director will be there for discussion and Q+A!
The film follows members of Borneo's Penan tribe and is an inspiring story of two universally human things -- freedom and belonging. Their homes are threatened by deforestation for palm oil plantations and they have come together in the fight to declare their homeland as a national park. Click here to book your FREE ticket! |

Broke Master Chef
Tuesday 24th March 2015 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Bar Latitude, Cooper Building, University of Greenwich
Broke Master Chef is a cooking contest which will see five teams of two students compete against each-other. They will have 30 minutes to cook a creative and tasty dish using leftover ingredients (those that can typically be found in a student's fridge). Come and learn new cooking skills and master the art of cooking out of an empty fridge in a fun and relaxed environment. Aimed at raising awareness about food waste and sustainability, this event is organised by the MA Events Management students. |
