Public health isn’t just about theory — it’s about people, stories, and the conversations we don’t have enough.
At the Public Health Society, we create spaces where students can engage with real-world issues beyond the lecture hall. From ethical debates to awareness campaigns, our focus is on making public health visible, inclusive, and relevant.
This year, we relaunched the society with a clear purpose:
to challenge stigma, amplify underrepresented voices, and turn discussion into action.
One of our key projects, In Her Own Words, is a student-led short film exploring breast cancer through lived experiences. It brings together survivors, advocates, and students to highlight the realities of stigma across different communities — and the importance of early screening, open conversation, and cultural awareness.
Alongside this, we’ve hosted:
- Interactive events like our Mythbusters Evening and Public Health Debates
- A Breast Cancer Awareness Symposium with healthcare professionals and students
- Focus groups creating space for honest, often overlooked conversations
We’re not here to give you all the answers.
We’re here to ask better questions — and create the kind of discussions that stay with you.
Whether you’re studying public health or just interested in the issues shaping our world, this is a space to get involved, speak up, and be part of something meaningful.
Join us. Be part of the conversation.
