WELCOME TO UOG DRAGONS!
We are the University of Greenwich Dance Team! The UOG Dance Team is about creating an environment for students to feel welcome and safe while also having an enjoyable time. This year we will offer our members many different open classes per week including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, street dance, ,female fusion, afro, heels as well as competition teams. All classes are taught by professional teachers who make our sessions as enjoyable as possible and inspire us by sharing their love of dance.

Meet our lovely commeette girls, who are responsible for this seaon. They are working very hard to make this year special for all of you. If you have any questions, issues or even sugestions how to imporove our team please feel free to contact them! 💌
Some of you may already know them from last year, while others may be meeting them for the first time. Each committee member brings unique strengths and experiences to our team and together they are committed to making this year even more successfull.

SOCIALS
Although we love to Dance at our dance studio, we also love to meet outside of it. That is why we host social events every month! The activities that we do at them can vary, sometimes we go for a meal, do a board game night, bowling, movie night, mini golf, themed party, etc. During the year we also do socials with other sports teams or societies. If you have an idea for our next social do not hesitate to share it with our Events Manager Molly.

CLUB OF THE YEAR 2021
We always organize our own awards ceremony and it is also our last social of the year to summarize the whole season and celebrate our achievements. During the event we are presenting the awards from the teachers, giving speeches, playing games, announcing important information, for example, new members of the committee and saying goodbye to those who will not join us next year.
TOUR
Every year, usually for 1 week around the end of April, TOUR happens. Previously this was organized by the company I Love Tour or Outgoing, however this might change. This year we are considering few destinations like Croatia, Span or Italy. Please let us know if you are intrested to join us this year!

POLICIES
The policy at the University of Greenwich is that initiations are prohibited! However, we know that the 'stereotype' and reputation of sports groups at many Universities may blur this message, so we at a dance just want to reiterate that we do NOT hold any form of initiation. Instead of it, we host a ''TEAM- BUILDER'' social for Competition Teams with fun games and challenges.Example: In 2022 we had a Squid Games themed social and in 2023 we had Orange is the new Black themed social, where members took part in challenges such as musical statues, apple bobbing or drinking Jenga, boat race. We had a “safe word” in case anyone felt uncomfortable at any time. By also letting members know all the information when they turn up to the social creates a fun but safe environment, one key thing to remember is not to single anyone out.

You will need to show it to one of our committee members before every open class you plan to attend.
